§ A-4. Fire Department.

A. 

The Fire Department shall, as to its rules and regulations, remain as now constituted until the same shall be changed by administrative action of the Mayor.

B. 

In addition, the Fire Department shall be responsible for the administration and enforcement of Subchapter A, B, C, E and F of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code in the City of Kingston, New York and shall establish powers, duties and responsibility in connection therewith.

C. 

Any reference or use of the term "Building Safety Division of the Fire Department" in the Kingston City Code shall be amended to delete said reference and term and to replace the same with the term "Building Department."

D. 

Any reference or use of the term "Fire Officer," in the Kingston City Code shall be amended to delete said reference and term and to replace the same with the term "Building Safety Officer."

E. 

The Mayor shall have the powers and duties in the administration of the Fire Department as were previously designated as the powers and duties of the Board of Fire Commissioners in § C12-1 of the existing City Charter.
